Rocking Horses: New and Restored
Safety (applies to all horses, new and restored):
Children riding and playing near rocking horses, especially those under 5 years old, should be supervised at all times by a responsible adult. All horses including fittings and accessories including paint finishes comply with toy safety standards. With every new and restored horse you will receive details on safe use and care of your rocking horse.
Made to order:
We will agree on the design brief including style, finish, style and colours of tack including hair. We will then quote to produce. Your horse can be collected from our workshop or we can quote for delivery. On agreement of price we ask for a deposit of around 25% being part payment towards materials. On completion we request payment to be in our account before delivery. The customer is free to visit our workshop at any time during the process, at a time to be agreed usually two days minimum notice. On request photo’s can be sent at any time during the process. We use good quality seasoned timber and make every effort to check the timber before we use for cracking and other faults, however timber is a natural product and may at some point develop some imperfection like slight cracking or distortion. This is usually negligible and will not affect the timbers structural integrity.
Restoration:
Agreeing the brief including finish, and style and colours of tack including hair is the most important part of any restoration. Dependent on the condition sometimes the most sensitive of restoration is best, keeping the aged character of a much-loved family heirloom. We aim to get as close to the original specification as we can. If for any reason we can’t we will discuss and agree the options. We will then quote to produce.
